The process of removing a web page from the search engine index making it unable to appear in the search engine result pages. This is done by setting the value of the HTML robots meta tag to “noindex”.
The reason why you might want a page de-indexed could be if you have a page that does serve a purpose, but it isn’t ranking. Example of these pages include login and thank you pages.
