A method where many links are posted in blog comments, forums, guestbooks or other similar places online, for the sole purpose of increasing your rank and without actually leaving anything of value in the post itself.
The links posted in this way are mostly nofollow, so there is no actual benefit to your rank and you do risk a penalty for using this method of link building.
